Elena Aranda Head of Intermediated Financing

Elena Aranda holds a degree in Law and Economics and Business Administration (E-3) from ICADE, a postgraduate degree in Management from Harvard University and an MDR from IESE.

She began her career as assistant to the Finance Department of a Spanish subsidiary of an American company, before joining ICO in 1994 as a technician in the General Directorate of Mediation. Since then she has pursued her career at ICO, occupying various positions in the General Directorate for Business, such as manager of the Finance Facilities Coordination Unit Lines, head of the Mediation and Internationalisation Unit, and head of the Department of Mediation and Economic Policy and Director of Financing with Financial Institutions. 

As Head of Intermediated Financing, she is responsible for designing, proposing and developing the conditions of the ICO's domestic intermediation financing facilities, ensuring they are coherent with public policy objectives, operationally viable and suitably articulated contractually. She heads the relationship with commercial banks and other financial intermediaries to promote their deployment, coordinates the implementation of new facilities—including those linked to domestic or European public funding—in collaboration and coordination, where appropriate, with different institutions and ministerial units, and manages the processing of agreements and authorisations with the competent agencies. 

The Financial Entity Mediation Unit and the Guarantee Facilities Management Unit report to this Directorate.
