Antonio Bandrés
Head of International Expansion
Antonio Bandrés holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Zaragoza and Pierre Mendes France (Grenoble).
He began his career at Caja Rural bank of Aragón and in 2001 he joined Instituto de Crédito Oficial where he has held various functions and positions in the areas of International Financing and Venture Capital within Axis Participaciones Empresariales. In 2025, he assumed the position of Head of International Corporate Finance until February 2026.
As Head of International Expansion, he is responsible for designing and implementing ICO's international expansion strategy, strengthening origination and product capacity as well as the bank’s institutional presence in priority markets.
He directs and prioritises the pipeline of international operations, managing relations with financial institutions, beneficiary companies and European and international bodies, and ensuring dossiers are qualified and coherent prior to their processing by the competent units. He drives the development and growth of the ICO International Channel facility, coordinates the deployment and operation of ICO offices abroad and reports key indicators of commercial and institutional activity. He also leads the international agenda within his scope of responsibility, represents ICO in global public development bank forums and collaborates in the comprehensive digitalisation of international trade.
