Maria Cristina de Arteaga Larrú, Chief of Administration and Information Systems

María Cristina de Arteaga Larrú holds a degree in Economics with a specialisation in Econometrics from the Carlos III University of Madrid. She has developed her career at Instituto de Crédito Oficial since 2009, where she has assumed increasing responsibilities in the field of asset management. Over these years she has performed technical and management functions, first as Unit Manager and more recently as Department Head, leading multidisciplinary teams and coordinating transversally across different Directorates of the Institute.

She has actively participated in strategic projects in technological modernisation, improving data governance and strengthening operational processes, providing a comprehensive vision of the life cycle of operations and the systems that support them. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of AXIS, the venture capital management company of the ICO Group, contributing to the governance and supervision of its activity.

As Chief of Administration and Information Systems, she is responsible for defining and overseeing the internal governance policies and framework in the economic-financial, accounting, operational and technological areas of ICO, ensuring their alignment with institutional strategy and regulatory requirements. She directs the Institute’s economic-financial cycle —budgeting, financial control, accounting, taxation and regulatory reporting— ensuring data quality and traceability. She leads the evolution of information systems, business continuity, cybersecurity and supplier management, as well as giving impetus to the digital transformation, process automation and corporate data governance. She supervises the back office of asset operations and critical payment and settlement systems, and coordinates across different directorates to ensure regulatory consistency, internal control and problem resolution.

She also defines and reports area-wide performance indicators to facilitate management and accountability.
